I think Nancy Veglahn was insufficiently interested in the facts to write these kinds of books. I leafed through this at the library, but ultimately decided not to check it out. I've read another of her books, about Faraday, and they seemed consistent w/ each other.

Too fanciful to be really useful. Also, I believe that some of the illustrations of experiments were actually inaccurate. There were some inaccuracies in the text that were more misleading than simplifying. For example, Sir Humphry Davy responded promptly, courteously, and encouragingly to Faraday's letter although he was not able to hire him immediately.

"Michael Faraday: Apprentice to Science" is a better book directed at an only slightly older age group.
