Sanzo Wada (1883–1967)

I got this book because I went through decades of my life with my wardrobe consisting of black, paired with black and with black accents. I occasionally got wild and crazy with greys and maybe a white shirt once every couple of years. After seeing some online content creators praising this book, I thought it may be a good foray in to colour. I am a trained artist, so I am familiar with colour theory and have a general understanding of what combinations could be generated in a more obvious sense, but this book contains many unexpected yet delightful pairings that the colour wheel neglects. I think that in addition to granting me an introduction to colors to make my clothing more chromatically interesting, it will inspire some new art pieces with unexpected yet intriguing hues. I will also note that there sheer abundance of combinations presented here make it very easy to simply skip over groupings that may not be personally appealing, as there are always more to explore, and the cross referencing of colors in the back means that if you are set on the inclusion of one particular colour, you can easily find all combinations presented which include it without having to check each entry individually.
