Inspector Blake Hartley is called to 'The Grange' because of a murder. A place he is well acquainted with as his mother used to work there as a cook, a house located on the outskirts of Keighlworth in Yorkshire. Though the wealthy owner is dead Hartley can at first find no motive. But he and his sergeant, Khan, investigate.
A satisfying well-written mystery.

The body of Dr Ahmed Manasas, lecturer, is found in the Egyptian Department of the Keighworth Museum. Detective Inspector Hartley is called in to investigate.
The story kept my interest

Sir Edward Marcham, business man, is found dead in Keighworth and it is up to Detectives Hartley and Khan to investigate. It does not take long for his sleazy past to be exposed, and his dubious current dealings. And so a few suspects.
An enjoyable read

A bosy is discovered in the graveyeard of the church of the Revd Inspector Blake Hartley. This is determined to be of a professional hitman. In their investigation many criminal elements are unearthed in Keighworth.
The story really didn't hold my interest.
