it took a scant week to read this book, I could not put it down. I've grown to enjoy his writing and the topic is a personal favorite, but this book also struck home in regards to hiking and aging. A great read and brings the earlier series full circle in many ways. Larry's sense of humor is heart warming, he's the type of guy I'd like to hike with.

I have enjoyed Larry's previous book and with each new release his writing style seems to improve. In addition to enjoying the area his works depict I also like the fact like Walter D. Edmonds' "Drums Along the Mohawk", he combines history and real events into a great story.

one of several books sharing the experiences the author had as a NYS DEC trail ranger in the Adirondacks in the West Canada Lakes Region, great stories and true love of the outdoors
