About the Author

Stephen White is the James Bryce Professor of Politics, a Senior Research Associate of the School of Central and East European Studies at Glasgow University, and a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Applied Politics in Moscow. White graduated from Trinity College Dublin with degrees in history mostrar mais and political science, and then completed a PhD in Soviet studies at Glasgow - including an exchange year at Moscow State University - and a DPhil in politics at Wolfson College Oxford. This is another in the fine Alan Gregory series. Alan's wife, DA Lauren Gregory, is arrested for a shooting on in a Boulder blizzard. The facts are few and the questions are many. This is another good one.

"Barney's Favorite Mother Goose Rhymes" contains very classic Mother Goose rhymes, but what is different with this book is new verses containing Barney have been added to the end of each rhyme. Each new verse with Barney relates to the Mother Goose rhyme and asks the reader to do some sort of action: clap your hands, hug someone, or count to ten. Each rhyme has a double-page illustration of the original Mother Goose character, but Barney and his friends have also been incorporated. An okay read for very young readers who may already like the character of Barney, but if readers do not like Barney (or know of the character) this book may be a little silly.… (mais)
