Here are a series of beautiful and fascinating photographs depicting the properties of water as it evaporates, splashes, condenses and bubbles. This book is certainly for the tween crowd, but the writing is descriptive and interesting, sneaking the facts in subtly. The glossary in the back of water related terms helps give clarity to the concepts.

I liked this, even though it made me feel like I'm not smart enough to wrap my head around some of the concepts. Red and green make yellow? Huh? I thought yellow was a primary color. (I had to google this to understand that I've been wrong about primary colors my whole life!)

This is both a very cool book and a sort of unsatisfying book because it touches on a lot of concepts that make me as a reader beg for further explanation. So if you look at this as a jumping off point for further reading and exploration, it's a winner. On it's own, it sort of just boggles the mind, though I'm sure there are very smart kids out there who already have a strong background in science who will enjoy it.… (mais)
