Leading and Loving it is a book subtitled encouragement for pastor's wives and women in leadership, telling of the many responsibilities of these women. Lori Wilhite and Brandi Wilson offer a support system, which encourages women in the church as they encounter emotional pressure and high expectations from others.in the church fellowship. Do you really know what these ladies of faith
encounter as they daily face their own challenges? The reader may be surprised as this honest appraisal of these dedicated leaders, some of whom have never been able to speak out before..

How to handle criticism, isolation, finding your own personal calling and what happens when you reach a place of burn-out are all discussed in a loving and constructive way. Both authors are married to pastors, so they understand first hand the dilemmas that are faced in a woman's ministry. Issues discussed are marriage, raising kids, time and balance, burnout and discouragement and change and transition along with their own personal stories.

I have personally been in church most of my life, and had some misconceptions of the pastoral life for years. Yes, my pastor's wife wanted to sleep in some Sundays, and yes, she delighted when she didn't have to be on every committee or head one up. I smiled throughout this book as I remember doing some of the things they mentioned, and worse, thought a lot of the wrong criticisms of my pastoral family. The authors have discussed openly and honestly what all church members need to hear. Buy this delightful book for your pastor's wife, and for the church library. Uplift them as they have uplifted you.

I heartily recommend this book to all readers, and as a gift for your best friend. Wouldn't this make a wonderful adult study adventure?
