The essence of this book is the recommendation to read a lot of flash fiction. After that the author provides the same worn out advice regarding how to write scenes, dialogue, action, develop characters, etc. that are available in a 100 other books (many of which are better) followed by basic writing exercises that are no different than those for any other fiction.

Nowhere does the author discuss how the elements of fiction are different or developed differently in flash fiction. I couldn't find any contribution this book makes to understanding how to write flash fiction as a unique genre. There is no discussion of a specific structure or process or planning for writing flash fiction. Don't waste your money. There's a reason this book has two reviews in nine years.… (mais)
