Have you ever heard Dick Van Dyke singing Put on a Happy Face in the movie Bye Bye Birdie? Here are the lyrics:

Gray skies are gonna clear up
Put on a happy face
Wipe of the clouds and cheer up
Put on a happy face

Take of the gloomy mask of tragedy
It's not your style
You'll look so good that you'll be glad
That you decided to smile

Pick out a pleasant outlook
Stick out that Nobel chin
Wipe off that full-of-doubt look
Snap on a happy grin

Spread sunshine all over the place
And just put on a happy
Put on a happy face

I believe the words of this song precisely epitomizes what the author, KariAnne Wood, wants to communicate to her readers in this book. Keeping these words in your mind, there’s one thing which everyone must remember which is, that according to:

English Standard Version Psalm 118:24
This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

This book with its 52 devotional readings, serves to remind those reading it that the Lord is always there for us and especially when we need him the most. I feel that the best way to read this book is do it slowly, reflecting on each word, then on everything you’re read.; the readings are aided in its mission with Biblical thoughts and appropriate personal stories from the author herself.

Regarding the Lord’s always being there for us, Ms. Wood reminds us that in every dark moment, he’s there. The proof of this I believe can best be found when we consider the darkest moment in anyone’s life is when a beloved person dies and we recall the message which reminds of his omnipresence for us, which is found in:

English Standard Version Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

For wanting to assist her readers in remembering the Lord’s omnipresence for us, and his aiding them in their moment of need, how can I not give Ms. Wood the 5 STARS she’s gotten from this reviewer.
