A sweet, awkward first kiss/ admittance of feelings between Derek and Stiles. Some resistance/ denial back and forth, but easily overcome. Set after 3b and has that shell shocked" in need of comfort Stiles."
This is beautiful in a very melancholic, but hopeful way.
Stiles is a hitch hiker and Derek picks him up. It only takes place over the course of 24 hours, but they have such an affinity to each other it feels like you are reading a snippet about old friends reuniting. The author did incredible setting the atmosphere. I could feel the ocean breeze on my face and a chill to my skin as Derek and Stiles looked out at the sea while leaning against the Camaro. I could feel the road trip nostalgia and flutters of finding not a crush, but a soul mate between them. It made me long for those new adult years of little responsibilities, an open road and finding love for the first time. Both Derek and Stiles' loneliness is palpable and it makes their coming together so sweet. And somehow despite the short time frame that this takes place in, it didn't feel rushed at all, but as easy and relaxed as a late summer drive.
(And yes, there is a seriously sexy scene.)

Sterek hurt/comfort - damaged Stiles finds comfort through touch...and Derek's kiss. Derek is all twisted up inside and in love. No sex, just feels.
It's a little sad but the hope of first love is nice. 3.5 stars
