This read like a middling Master's thesis that wants to be a journal article; it shouldn't be a book. (Palgrave also did a pretty poor job proofreading this. A faith has tenets, not tenants; clauses were underlined for reasons I couldn't figure, etc. It doesn't incline me to confidence in the Palgrave Pivot series, though I generally think the New Middle Ages series is very solid.)
