Is the book too misogynist to read/recommend?

bluepiano: The hate & fear of women in this book is so extreme that it was surely the product of a diseased mind.

bluepiano : Haven't read it for a while but remember (male) bosses rather than women complained about.

bluepiano : I somehow don't think that misogyny would appear in a list of the 5 most troubling things about Charles Manson. And what makes the biography itself misogynistic?

bluepiano : Have thumbed down all Arabian Nights listings as though the stories may be misogynistic the misogyny would be cultural and the books are very much worth reading anyway. Besides, the women in them have healthy sex drives and the person who, after all those volumes, triumphs by virtue of cleverness is a woman.

bluepiano : In the book a man kills a woman for reasons that, as I remember, have nothing to do with her sex. The (female) author deplores the crime, so er not at all misogynistic.

bluepiano : This, like so many listings that've been selected by computer rather than members, is bloody ridiculous. Jeez Louise--sexist calamari? Miss World noodles? elegant pizza from Telegraph Hill that compels a diner to assault a woman?

: It's a cookbook for goodness sake!
