My library is definately becoming a running joke in my home. Books that often disappear into the dark recesses of university libraries, never to be seen for generations, are finding their way to my crowded book shelves. Mostly historical reference and first person accounts, I also have a mix of historical analysis from today's perspective and genealogical reference material for citation purposes. Yes, I know I don't need to keep the actual books for that. It is a little thing called OCD.

I became completely enthralled with Jamestown and early colonialism in Virginia about 7 years ago. This came about when I set to disprove family gossip regarding having ancestors at Jamestown. It was gossip after all and not one living soul knew why it had been repeated over and over again. This was a case where I was glad that I was wrong. I ended up documenting portions of my family genealogy (which was totally alien to me) and finding that I was somehow connected to these people I was reading about.
