Stocked with textbooks and other works accumulated during many decades as a student and lecturer in the social sciences - especially history, politics and sociology. But also incudes fiction - especially realist novels on working class life and history - political biography, political humour and books by my favourite writers, including George Orwell and Bill Bryson.

David R Roberts was born in Stafford, England in 1948. He has a first class honours degree in Sociology and Economic & Social History from Loughborough University and a MPhil in Social Analysis from the University of Bradford. After a long teaching career in further and higher education, during which he wrote and edited a number of bestselling government & politics textbooks, he is now a reader and author of books on British social history. He is particularly interested in exploring links between local/family histories and national/global events and developments.
