Acerca da Minha Biblioteca
My library is quite eclectic and extensive, currently occupying 12 6-foot tall bookcases, double shelved. I numerous biographies (chiefly British royalty before 1900), archaeology and anthropology books, books on forensics and psychological studies of crime and criminals, books on the iron industry and trade, books on antiques, Japanese art, prehistoric monuments and of course, Egypt. My Egyptian collection numbers about 250 titles. I collect books with Egyptian themed bindings as well, and pre-1900 printed materials which deal with mummies.
My fiction collection is chiefly historical fiction and mysteries (strong themes include Victorian era, cats, antiques, books, forensics, historical characters and time periods, and of course, Egypt) I am very picky about historical fiction--it has to be accurate. Often I cross reference my fiction books to non-fiction books on the same topic. I do not generally care for 1st person books but I do make exceptions for some authors, most notably Carole Nelson Douglas, Dick Francis, Rex Stout, Linda Fairstein and Tamar Myers.
Acerca de Mim
I am an independent researcher in Egyptology. I am also the director of the EMINA (Egyptian mummies in North America) Project which is an attempt to catalogue ALL mummies that have come into North America. I have defined 75 access points for each mummy, which makes it the most comprehensive database on this subject.
I also volunteer as a cat and kitten cuddler, and manage the Facebook page for Neady Cats, a no-kill shelter in Sterling, Massachusetts.
