Sobre mimI have a BFA and MFA specialising in photography and have been teaching photography for over 30 years. I am the author of "Basic Critical Theory for Photographers" and in 2017 was awarded a Pearson's lifetime award for teaching.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaThis Library has been built up over the last 35 years as a comprehensive teaching resource covering all aspects of photography, aesthetic, critical, historical and technical.There are over 5000 books the majority being monographs.
Uncatalogued are thousands of periodicals, including about the first 20 years of the Sunday Times colour supplement (lots of Don McCullin), what seems to be a full set of Nova, hundreds of Picture Posts and Lilliputs, and various copies of things like Life (with work by Eugene Smith, and Tim Page) and Fortune (Walker Evans etc).

Also uncatalogued are numerous boxed sets with sets of high quality photo-mechanical prints (e.g. photogravures), calendars and other less conventional collections of images. I have the original press release folder for Smith's Minamata which includes a about 10 silver gelatin prints of images from the book.

Although, strictly speaking, not part of the library, I have a small number of mounted and framed original photographs from the 19th and 20th century which includes carbon prints, albumen prints, silver gelatin prints, platinum prints, photogravures etc which includes work by Hill and Adamson, John Thompson, Blossfeldt, Elliot Erwitt and others.

There is also a substantial collection of paraphernalia, ranging from a wet plate dark slide to post cards, posters and old cameras and equipment etc.
The library is currently held in Rickmansworth School, United Kingdom and as I want to retire I am looking to sell it, so if anyone is interested, please contact Ashley La Grange at ashlag@live.com
