Sobre mimI am a middle-aged amateur linguist (Bachelor's), and theologian (M.Div.), even more amateurish mandolin & guitar player, and accomplished dog walker and bibliophile. I wound up in computers and software and not the pastorate. I am a ruling elder in a confessional Presbyterian Church, some would call it a sideline church. By trade I'm a programmer/analyst in health care. I am ridiculously happily married to Marilyn, and we have a son and 2 daughters, all grown and out of the house.
Currently Holding
That's me in the picture (late Sept. 2011) holding Libby Llew, the Llewellin English Setter. Libby was 8-weeks old in the picture, this was her first night with us!
Currently Reading
God With Us by Scott Oliphint
Various items (books, essays) on the epistles of Paul to the Thessalonians; Kingdom Prologue by Meredith Kline. At any given point I reserve the right to dip into The Lord of the Rings or any other title in the Tolkien corpus.
Recently Finished
Openness Unhindered by Rosaria Butterfield;
The Hole in Our Holiness by Kevin DeYoung and What is the Mission of the Church also by DeYoung with Greg Gilbert.
Listened to Calvin's Institutes a second time during commutes to work. Martin's Dance with Dragons.
Sobre a minha bibliotecaThe usual mix of college and grad school stuff(M.Div. Westminster Seminary, Philadelphia) - All of which are still my interests. Then all the other stuff, like lots of Tolkien. A fun observation: shortly after hitting the 1,000 mark, and having become more diligent about entering tags there was a numeric match for programming and New Testament, and an equal number for the C language and CVT = Cornelius Van Til, reformed theologian. CVT's life and thought are important for Reformed theology and a strong influence on my life.
