The books I have put in my library are books that are both physically in my possession, and that I have actually read. I am still entering books in.

Some of my books are the same books that almost everyone on this site seems to have and to have read. Others are rather unique.

I like to read for two reasons: first off, reading books helps us learn about the world and avoid mistakes. Second, I read because it is a habit. I will read anything within reach of my hands. My list probably reflects this. I have added some reference books or anthologies to my list that I have not read all the way through, but read often.

As far as ratings go, I wouldn't really know how to do it. Some books are very nice on their own merits, and it wouldn't be fair to compare them to other books. If I compare "Choose your own adventure #4: Space and Beyond" to the Book of Mencius, Mencius is going to win. But on its own merits, Choose your own adventure #4 is a good book too. If I had to rate books into four categories, it would be "Books I love", "Books that are worth reading", "Books that are worth reading if you have a special interest in that genre/subject", and "books that are not worth reading". I wouldn't have bothered finishing many of the fourth type.

I also like to write postcards or letters to people around the world.
