Not sure? Any Ideas why I like these type of books... let me know, please, any suggestions also let me know....

Married, 33 years old with one son who is 5 & Autistic. We went on vacation in May and were stuck in the airport longer than expected. I bought the last book in the Odd Thomas series. It was the only one they had I thought I might like (by the way I didn't read the first three before reading this one). I couldn't put it down! I found myself sneaking in time to read it. I finished it in a week (a record for me). So I bought the first three and finished them in less than 3 weeks. I was so sad!!! Now what was I going to do? Twilight was suggested to me, and I wasn't sure if I would like it............. I read all 4 books in one & a half weeks. I couldn't put them down, I stayed up all night and would finish each book in less than a day or two. I moved on to Evermore, then Blue Moon (both "ok", but a little young for me) & now I'm starting the Night World Series. I just can't get enough.... I think it is my out for all the serious & stressful real life things that come along with raising a child with special needs.... I just need a little dose of "Non-reality" to get me through my day. Something that I'm not accountable for, something to take me far away for a little while.
