Book tastes

I think I write this every year but- I'll read just about anything. I love history, poetry, historical fiction, art, mysteries of all kinds, fantasy, sci fi, etc. I'm learning French, so something about learning French. I look forward to you finding me books that I wouldn't have found myself.

Don't get this!

Religious books. Romance in the style of Harlequin or Danielle Steele. Self help. Political, especially current events.

EerierIdyllMeme: The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun is a great French roadtrip thriller, something to read when you're planning to visit France. (Nov 29, 2023, 7:49pm)
EerierIdyllMeme: Graphic novels and plays are a great way of learning a language.

Historical fiction graphic novel: Queenie: marraine de Harlem

Other French graphic novel favourites: Marjane Satrapi, Parenthese (Durand)

I like Ionesco, but obviously there are a lot of other French playwrights to read.

Other French stuff you might like:

I've been reading Yourcenar's Comme l'eau qui coule (historical fiction, beautiful writing style so maybe worth putting off until you're reading more fluently)

Quebecois science fiction: Elisabeth Vonarburg (Nov 29, 2023, 3:51pm)
