Book tastes

Surprise Me - or send me a copy of you favorite books!
But to help you get started, I've been reading books that are quirky, either mystery, science fiction, or just general reading. The two series I've recently reread are the Dragaeran Novels by Steven Brust, and the Abhorsen Series, by Garth Nix, and they stood the test of time.
Also, as I write this, if you want a suggestion, I'd like a well written, up to date book about dinosaurs! I'm also a fan of well written pop history type books (see Salt by Mark Kurlansky for an example)

Don't get this!

Romance, Religious books, Anything Game of Thrones/Brandon Sanderson/Big Epic Fantasy.

Other notes

My library is mostly up to date, but looking at what I read the last year will give you an idea of what I like. Also, anything tagged CHBookclub is from my work book club, and most of them are not books I would normally choose to read, even if i found them enjoyable.

bragan: Both of these books say they'll take an extra 7-10 days. I REALLY hope that's OK, as it applies to so much of what's on the site! In case there are any problems (and just as a few extra recommendations), I'll add that I'd also have loved to send: Several People Are Typing by Calvin Kasulke, At Home by Bill Bryson, Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson, or possibly How We Got to Now by Steven Johnson. In the end, I went with the one that made the pricing closest, but I wish I could give all of 'em! (Nov 29, 2023, 11:31am)
