Book tastes

Well-written LGBT (particularly gay male) fiction, especially fantasy and romance. Unique fantasy and science fiction, generally not written by cishet men. Books that make me feel magical or otherwise elicit strong emotions. Japanese literature (cishet men are okay here!), fairies, poetry, ancient civilizations (especially Ancient Egypt), Jane Austen. Gay-related or ancient civ-related non-fiction (queer theory, history, lit crit, biography, etc.).

Don't get this!

Pulp heterosexual romance or mystery. Mpreg. Used books, unless they're out of print and can't be gotten new.

Other notes

Some all-time favorites: Autobiography of Red (Anne Carson), rock (Anyta Sunday), Le petit prince (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry), Persuasion (Jane Austen), The Wild Irish (Louise Glück), Lily Mayne, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Not favorites because sad, but: A Little Life (Yanagihara); At Swim, Two Boys (O'Neill).

inpariswithyou: Don't forget to check my LibraryThing catalog to make sure I don't have the book! (Nov 30, 2023, 8:56pm)
greeneyed_ives: For queer theory, they might enjoy Hi Honey, I'm Homo!: Sitcoms, Specials, and the Queering of American Culture by Matt Baume. For MM romance (though not fantasy), possibly We Could Be So Good by Cat Sebastian (they seem to have a few of their books & this is the newest one) or The Secret Lives of Country Gentleman by KJ Charles.
