I'm about halfway through Martin Luther: The Christian Between God and Death and am getting a lot of good insights about growing up Lutheran. I read Here I Stand many years ago, and in retrospect, think it was a bit on the hagiographical side.
What books do other group members recommend on the Reformation in Germany?

Here I Stand is indeed an awful book of history - I read it about 15 years ago and quite enjoyed it, but now find it unreadable. Euan Cameron's The European Reformation is very good, if rather dense for the non-academic. As an introduction, I would recommend Diarmaid MacCulloch's Reformation, but that isn't specifically about Germanty, of course.
