I skipped the 10 in 10 group this year. I couldn't come up with categories and enjoyed a very unstructured reading year.
But as I'm planning for 2011 I realize having a few categories is natural so I might as well join in!

I'm trying to leave room for authors I already know and love, as well as new authors and books I should branch out to. And there is that pesky TBR stack that keeps growing in the house.

Off to a great start. I hit the library tonight (need one more book in the series before I can read my ER book) and checked out the sale table. I picked up 3 by Lee Child (that falls under challenges 3 and 9 (recommended by lots, and never heard of him before this year), a Jennifer Crusie (Welcome to Temptation for #5 (already read at least one by the author). And a Donna Leon which means I'm finally starting the Brunetti series (challenge 11)!

I also picked up an Aunt Dimity book (by Nancy Atherton). Those were being recommended earlier this month or in Nov. But I was confusing them with Agatha Raisin.

So, for $3.75 I got

Aunt Dimity Digs In by Nancy Atherton
Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult
Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult
Killing Floor by Lee Child
Gone Tomorrow by Lee Child
Without Fail by Lee Child
The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin
Oliver Twist by Dickens
Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie
Fatal Remedies by Donna Leon

Getting War & Peace in order - I am reading an iBook from gutenberg.com so I'm struggling a little bit to match books to volumes to page #s. Here is what I have cobbled together.

War and Peace with Books on the Nightstand
*Feb 1-14 Volume 1 part 1 (thru page 111) - done 2/27/2011
*Feb 15-28 Volume 1 part 2 (thru page 199) done 4/4/2011
*March Volume 1 part 3 (thru page 294)
*April Volume 2 parts 1 and 2 (thru page 417)
*May Volume 2 part 3 (thru page 487)
*June Volume 2 parts 4 and 5 (thru page 600)
*July Volume 3 part 1 (thru page 681)
*Aug Volume 3 part 2 (thru page 820)
*Sept Volume 3 part 3 (thru page 932)
*Oct Volume 4 parts 1 and 2 (thru page 1030)
*Nov Volume 4 parts 3 and 4 (thru page 1125)
*Dec Epilogue (thru page 1215)

How my iBook chapters match up
*Book 1 (1805) 28 chapters
*Book 2 (1805) 21 chapters
*Book 3 (1805) 19 chapters - end Vol 1
*Book 4 (1806) 16 chapters
*Book 5 (1806-07) 22 chapters
*Book 6 (1808-10) 26 chapters
*Book 7 (1810-11) 13 chapters
*Book 8 (1811-12) 22 chapters - end Vol 2
*Book 9 (1812) 23 chapters
*Book 10 (1812) 39 chapters
*Book 11 (1812) 34 chapters - end Vol 3
*Book 12 (1813) 16 chapters
*Book 13 (1812) 19 chapters
*Book 14 (1812) 19 chapters
*Book 15 (1812-13) 20 chapters - end Vol 4
*First Epilogue 16 chapters
*Second Epilogue 12 chapters

All of that really does equal 365 chapters, which is 1 a day (and right now I'm 31 days behind :-)
