Recommended Books--from the ones you are reviewing

What childrens'/YA books or other media you have encountered recently would you recommend to other prospective teachers?

I recommend Giant Steps to Change the World by Spike and Tanya Lee. Obviously, it has been created by celebrity and film director Spike Lee and his spouse, who has apparently tried her hand at other children's books. Celebrity books don't usually appeal to me, but this book has a very important set of messages, and was perhaps crafted with their own children in mind. The illustrations are below average, but the quotations featured were powerful, and the messages were crucial--so much so that I bought it in hardcover.
