Often we talk about downsizing. I'm systematically going through the huge piles of books and offering those I've read and no longer want to keep.

Here are some that I'll give to the first person who posts their interest and address on my LT home page. I'll send them out in a timely manner.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
The Ravenmaster's Secret by Elvira Woodruff
The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O'Farrell
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Charlotte's Web by E.B. White

Great idea for a thread, Linda! I'll come here when I have books to give away. :)

I think it's a great idea too!

I'd like to give away my ER copy of Stones for my Father. It is the final version from Tundra Books, hardcover with dustjacket. It's a children's historical fiction about the second Boer War.

Leave me a PM with your address, and I'll ship to the first one (I'll also keep an eye out and change this post once I've a taker!) - I'll ship worldwide, also.

I like to give away my books through BookMooch as I get points for other free books. Could I do that here (with a reservation for whoever wants my books) or would you rather I not do this here? I prefer to ship USA only, though, because shipping costs are so expensive, and I ship frequently.

I have two books on saving money, particularly geared toward moms in the family:
Miserly Moms by Jonnie McCoy
How to Get What You Want in Life with the Money You Already Have by Carol Keeffe

Both books use prices and figures that are a little out of date, but the principles and ideas are very good, and some of the ideas were new to me.

I was hoping to send them both to the same person if possible, to save shipping.

Contact me if you would like to read them and I'll send them to you. :)

***They have been claimed!***

I have Great House by Nicole Krauss to give away on BookMooch. USA only. Please private message me if you'd like me to list it and reserve it for you.

It's an Orange Prize nominee (shortlist) and is a good read for Orange July. I really liked it.

----------------------

Other books I can list on BookMooch (with above terms):
Kosher Chinese
The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox
Marabou Stork Nightmares

I want to give away my 19th century set of Elsie Dinsmore books, collected the hard way in the "old days" fifty years ago. I'm not finding the part of LibraryThing that gives the rules for this. All I see are the ones for "winning" free books....

Is there a link I'm missing?

Alternatively, if you would cherish the set, let me know and I'll arrange for your receipt of it. (Can't pay overseas postage, though. It's a big set.)

Can I join the dance? Take a look at my Catalogue tag "To sell/donate/swap". I am open to any reasonable proposition, though I would need US postage reimbursed. Some stuff is already spoken-for. I would be particualrly happy if I could match some of my Wants for anybody's cast-offs. Let's keep this thread going. Thanks in advance. -- Goddard
