Who cares? Let's talk about Lord of the Rings! Who is your favorite member of the Fellowship and why?
Mine is Samwise Gamgee. Humble, supposedly ordinary, saved Frodo's arse so many times - what more could you want from a friend?

I've scanned through the books when I was younger, but I never fully read them. They are all on my to-read list.
To be honest, I much prefer J.R.R. Tolkien's friend and fellow writer: C.S. Lewis, of Chronicles of Narnia and Christian apologetic fame.

Nope. But I have to say that I just started The Hobbit and I am enjoying it immensely. It's not The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe but it's certainly wonderful!

They are better.

Wow, I will have to read them then. Does anyone know if they are going to make a 4th movie??

Yes, they are! *screams with delight* It will not be The Silver Chair (which was supposed to be next), but The Magician's Nephew! I am so happy about this, as The Magician's Nephew is my second favorite of the books. It describes how Narnia was created, how evil came into the country, and the exploits of Diggory Kirk (who as you might remember, was the old professor in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe).

I don't know. Walden Media's contract with the estate of C.S. Lewis has run out, so the project is on hold. No filming has been done or anything. *sniffs*

I know. *sobs quietly*
But..... The good news is that The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be out in 2012! Directed by Peter Jackson, who did The Lord of the Rings, and Orlando Bloom (among other former cast members) will be reprising his role as Legolas. Eye candy, everyone!

That's all right. They're endearing.
