It might help your effort if you'd tell HOW you plan to "perpetuate book love and culture to future generations." That's not an agenda that I, for one, would find easy to detail.

Also, I was wondering who is "we"? At first I assumed LibraryThing but that does not appear to be the case. What is your group and what do you do?

Not to mention you can only vote if you have a Facebook account.

This seems to have been posted on multiple groups and others looking into it have found it excessively sketchy.

^varielle, is there an easy way to see what groups it has been posted into? I'd like to see whether it's appropriate to topic in those posts, and how many there are. Thanks!

I searched "Talk" and "topics" for "$250K", and found this posted in:

Rare, Old or Offbeat
Antiquarian Books
Mainers
Bloggers
and, of course, this group.

I'm familiar with this program and I wouldn't call it "sketchy". I know at least one small business in my neighborhood that is vying for the award.

I guess I'll give it the benefit of a doubt -- it's posted by a member with a lot of books cataloged. He/she probably just hasn't been back to answer the questions/concerns posted here. But I'm not following any links without more info.
