I'm reading Chocolate Chip Murder Mystery A Hannah Swensen Mystery right now and I've been enjoying it. I've never read anything by Joanne Fluke before. She even gives you the recipes to the Cookies in her book. I'm gonna have to try to find some more of her books. She even gives you an E-Mail address where people can reach her. It's Gr8Clues@aol.com I love books where the Author gives you the recipes that are use in their books. The Cookie Recipes sound real delicious. I'm also still reading The Friday Night Knitting Club too. I've also enjoyed that book as well.

I hope you read the whole series about Hannah Swensen...I love hearing about her cat & sisters.

No that was the first Hannah Swensen Mystery I read. I may have to look into buying the rest of the books in the Series.

Diane Mott Davidson writes a "cozy" series that features a caterer (Goldilocks' Catering), and she also includes the recipes in the book. The recipes are an extra treat.

There is a series by Virginia Rich, picked up after her death by another author, starting with The Cooking School Murders, that turned me into a cozy freak. All culinary based in some way, also.

Didn't Virginia Rich write, Who's Killing the Great Chefs of Europe? Which was made into a movie in the 70s with Jacqueline Bisset & Robert Morley. Or did the book, The Cooking School Murders become the movie, Who's Killing the Great Chefs of Europe??

I've read both the Hannah Sweenson & the Goldilocks Catering mysteries. I enjoyed the Hannah one more as the Goldilocks one tended to confuse. It was more intense. The Hannah ones are more light reading.

I'm only trying to explain the differences in the series not make any choices.

I love the Joann Fluke series of books. I have read all but the first one. I could not get into it for some reason

Well if you get a chance try again. Since you've read the rest of the books you are familiar with all the characters. So I would not worry about reading the first one. I have to admit I don't even remember it! LOL I'll look it up. Happy Days =)

I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy them...I like the recipes...and the feud between Hannah two suitors. They are both different & I am usually rooting for the same one. Too bad she isn't listening to me ;)

I enjoyed the Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder book and the cookies. Her Carrot Cake Murder was also a delicious cake and book.

I think I have read all of Joanne Fluke's books and even tried some of her recipes. "Kitty's Orange Cake" is one of our favorites! I liked the knitting ones too, even though I don't knit anymore. These are good books to"curl up" with!

I'd like to recommend Jenn McKinlay's cupcake bakery series as well (it starts with Sprinkle with Murder), as well as Laura Childs' tea-shop mysteries, of which the early ones are fabulous. That series begins with Death by Darjeeling, and both sets include recipes at the end of each book.

I'm a tea junkie, so I've read all the Laura Childs Tea Shop installments...agreed: the early ones are the best. Series starts to sag after #5 or #6, but I stuck with it for the tea descriptions. The latest I've read (The Teaberry Strangler) didn't even have enough of that to suit me.

G.A. McKevett is a great author for cozy, with humor. Diane Mott Davidson is another great one also. I love any cozy that deals with food and mysteries. Merry Christmas! Let us remember the reason for this season!

I love this series. It was the Hannah Sweenson series that got me to start reading mysteries. A wonderful series.
