Right in the middle of the Dark Half right now but once I'm done with that one From a Buick 8 is next on my list.

Read it years ago and loved it. I think now is a good time to re-read!

Just finished it. A great book that I have always had an affinity for. One, in college I really thought I was going to be a Ohio Highway Patrol. Two, All the my extended family lives around the area described in the book, just east of Butler, PA.
Finally, I like his philosophical look at the connections in life and how sometimes there is no grand explanation or neat ending to life stories that wraps everything up neatly. As someone who lost a random to random stupidity, it's something that resonates with me.

One of King's 21st century masterpieces. He handles multiple narrators flawlessly and delivers a scary story with heart and nuance. In the end, it's minor King, I suppose; but, for me, it represents the near perfection of King's craft.

I'm finally getting around to reading From a Buick 8. So far so good...

Just realized I never posted what I thought of From a Buick 8.
I didn't like it as much as the other members of our group. I felt bored by the story and it didn't scare me. I think the way the story was told from different points of view kept me from connecting with any of the characters. This is the only one I read by Mr. King this year that I didn't like.

I found it a bit boring and lacking. It felt to me as if it just was a long SCP Foundation entry.

This is one of the fairly recent King's I liked very much!

Unfortunately possessed cars don't do much for me in terms of horror, although the creatures that came out of the car were pretty creepy. But like some others commented, I thought the characterization was spot-on.
