Klingshield ... Protection for books

Thought I would share a new installation in my library of a product called Klingshield . It is a sticky transparent material that is professionally placed on window panes to exclude UV light . We have just installed it on our library as we were not keen on curtains. light still comes into the room but 90+% of uv is excluded . It is also used to prevent a view into a room but we did not go for that feature as the library looks into a private garden . My concern is the effect of UV light on the fading of spines . It was not expensive about the equivalent of $160 for two v large windows and installed . I once had this product installed to cut glare in a large computer lab (a room adapted from a showground exhibition view spot for a company ) and it worked wonderfully. Has anyone else used this product in relation to books ? Satisfaction?

I used a similar product for the windows in my library. I would like to do the whole house as we've noticed floors and furniture in other rooms with untreated windows fading. But no fading detected in the library!

Don't know this specific brand/product, but had good experiences with something similar for a place we used to exhibit graphic art. Caveat: it reduces UV but won't prevent all fading in the long run.

Good to know this type of product is getting more affordable though.
