O'Gara & Wilson's will close (on 57th St.) on Sunday, July 14.

You have only two more days to take advantage of their 25% off sale before they leave 57th Street and desert Chicago for Chesterton, Indiana.

Never been, and won't be able to make it. But it has me thinking, it would be nice to note when bookstores open, to counter all the closings. Or, semi-counter -- I'm not convinced they occur with equal frequency, sadly enough.

Missed it, too bad. That was a great store. Chesterton no doubt results in a much lower rent, but lower #'s of customers, too, I would think.

Well, Doug says that their business has really plummeted, due in part to rising parking costs, but also because the U of C shuttles have cut into foot traffic in that area. It's also going to be a lot easier for him, since he lives in Chesterton.

Too bad. He'd sure be the one to know. No commute has to appeal a lot.
