Newly Released Memo Concerning Battle of Midway Newspaper Leak

Today's Wall Street Journal featured a story on the release of the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel's memo regarding the June 7, 1942, article by Chicago Tribune reporter Stanley Johnston. This article implicitly revealed that the United States Navy had cracked the Japanese Navy codes and raised a furor in the Navy that the Japanese would revise their codes in the wake of its publication.
