I am a veteran book collector and pack rat. I still have most of the first 1000 books I acquired and cataloged in various programs more than once. Now, thanks to Library Thing I hopefully will never have to re catalog my collection. Also, thanks to eBooks my collection takes up much less space now.

I will count here only books that I read and write about in my blog: http://hofpublishers.com/readingnow/

00. Dick Sand A Captain at Fifteen — Jules Verne
01. Dick Sands, the Boy Captain — Jules Verne
02. Ticket No. “9672″ — Jules Verne
03. Searching for Erin Corley — Caspar Cole
04. The Wind in the rose-bush and other stories of the supernatural — Mary Eleanor Wilkins Freeman
05. More Tales in the Land of Nursery Rhyme — Ada M. Marzials
06. King Solomon’s Mines — Henry Rider Haggard
07. Allan Quatermain — Henry Rider Haggard
08. Allan’s Wife — Henry Rider Haggard
09. Maiwa’s Revenge — Henry Rider Haggard
10. Marie An Episode in The Life of the Late Allan Quatermain — Henry Rider Haggard

That is eleven books but I will not count the first of the two Dick Sand titles as the first was started in 2013. They are two translations of the same novel, with only minor variation between the English and American translations.

Welcome Douglas! And yes, great start indeed. And your reading list so reminds me of myself at different periods of my life when I would read a book and become fascinated by the subject matter or the author and have to read everything I could get my hands on about that particular subject or by that author. Or sometimes just own it in case. lol!~!

I count any book that I 'finish' in 2014 on the new year's challenge whether I began it last year or not. So feel free to count them if you wish Doug.

Again, welcome and good luck with your challenge.
