"WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE ZODIAC KILLER?" BY Kathrine B. Fitzpatrick

http://www.amazon.com/Whatever-Happened-Zodiac-Killer/dp/1629525626/ref=sr_1_1?i...

One of the greatest unsolved mysteries of all time! So, whatever happened to the Zodiac Killer who haunted the San Francisco Bay Area from 1969 to the night of his sudden disappearance in 1978? He cleverly manipulated and taunted the emotions of the public through the newspapers, and mocked and scorned the police he called "The Keystone Cops" and the "Blue Meanies." He egotistically announced, "You will never capture me!" It seemed that he was right. The Zodiac always had the "Phantom advantage" in every circumstance, and escaped. He was definitely one of the most demonic individuals on earth, as he spoke often in his letters to the public and the police about "the monster within me . . . I cannot stop!" One night a couple who had just gotten out of a late night church service suddenly encountered him. They ultimately wound up getting into a high speed chase with him. When it was between him and this couple, and ultimately their family, a supernatural occurrence happened! Based on a true story and actual events! Katherin ("Kathie") FitzPatrick has been a professional level writer since her high school years. In her adult life this led to a long career as a television producer, writer and on-camera talent for a prominent Christian television network in the San Francisco Bay Area. Currently, she is working in Real Estate and income properties and is an entrepreneur. She resides in the Pacific Northwest with her family, and participates in various ministry ventures.

"Eric, what are we doing here?"
"Marketing. It's what you do after you've got a killer story ready to go."
"What story?"
"Are you mental, Spence? The whole Augment smackdown, retirement home, apocalypse thing!"
"You wrote all that down?"
"I'd be crazy not to!"
"First, you are crazy. And second, how does this fit with your top secret, low-profile thing?"
"Well, I already posted the story. The media is going to be on it like Miley Cyrus in a demolition zone."
"Fine, what did you tell them about?"
"Well, you know, everything. You getting tossed in your Dad's poorly disguised Fortress of Solitude reference to start..."
"You started there? Come on, man. Nobody wants to read that. It was cold and boring. REALLY boring."
"But you totally Eye-of-the-Tigered that place. Workin' all your techno skillz..."
"My only work out there was my wrist."
"Woah, TMI, man. Look, just let me tell the story. You'll sit back and collect the checks."
"Right. Powerless son of a superhero, woohoo, major excitement."
"Are you kidding me? Maybe you need to re-read this..."

My fifth novel, Schroedinger’s Cheshire Cats, is now available from my publisher at www.authorhouse.com. Soon, it and the e-book version should show up on Amazon and other places across the web as well. It is not a pre-requisite to have read the first four books, although that would be nice. :-) If you go to my website, www.thefifthprophet.com, you will be able to see more about the books before you dive in. I hope you enjoy this book. Please let me know what you think about it. Book six is under way! Here is a copy of the cover for you.

(sorry, can't get the image in here, but it should show up on my Author profile and on my website)

This is a multi-layered, techno-poetic, story of mankind and reality. The well known Schroedinger’s Cat thought experiment considers the quantum nature of reality. The wave function exists inside the box and then collapses when the box is opened and its interior is observed. BUT, there is no consideration for the cat! What does the cat choose to do inside the box? On one level this is an adventure story. On a second level, the Summoner, searching for the formula for the soul, is science itself. Wrapped around it all, the author summons his characters to populate his new creation. Will you recognize all the symbolism? Even Heisenberg was uncertain what he observed.

The Summoner, an alien god seeking the formula for the soul, imprisons six representatives of humanity within a thought experiment. Omniscient enough to observe the history of our universe up to the Horizon of Now, but unable to see inside the mysteries of free will, he watches these humans struggle to understand their new reality. The captives must fight for survival like a herd of Schroedinger’s cats battling alien monsters, political revolution, plague, and war. They wander like rats in a maze as the Summoner studies their thoughts while he compares and contrasts all aspects of their human civilization. If his experiment is successful he will use his data to create a new Eden populated with his stolen souls. Full of philosophy and physics, the story falls between science fiction and science fantasy.

Hi all! New author and member here!

My debut novel, Lucid hit the e-shelves a few weeks ago. Check it out here!

LUCID by L. E. Fred

YA Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Adventure

Devon Alexander is a 15 year-old teenager coping with the monotonous reality of his average life. His life receives an interesting reprieve as he has his first realistic dream of a spaceship. The strangest thing about the dream is that he seems to be the only one on board who isn’t in a dream-like trance. Before he can figure out anything about the dream or his strange shipmates, he manages to wake up. The next day, Devon catches a news story about inexplicable comas taking place all over the world. Devon’s life becomes increasingly interesting as he recognizes some of the victims from his spaceship trip.

Devon and an unlikely group of other teens start devising a plan to find out who is behind the strange dreams and the comas. Their plan is not only successful but immerses them in to the fantastical world that only resides in dreams. While in the dream world, the teens learn about the power of teamwork, a new world of culture, and their hidden potential to be heroes.

Suspenseful, funny at the worst times, and just a hint of teenage romance, Lucid takes a group of young adults and throws them into a fantasy world that they only thought could exist in their dreams. In a sense, they’re right.

My novel, The Lion of Kabul, is free today (Sunday, July 13th) at Amazon (would love some reviews):

http://www.amazon.com/The-Lion-Kabul-Mustafa-Oktem-ebook/dp/B009N9VGPW

“There are things in life I've learned I cannot change: I am an orphan. I grew up in poverty, poverty of the most wretched kind. I shall never forget the fear, the deprivation, the sense of hopelessness. At a young age, I witnessed the horrors of this world; etched in my memory are gruesome, macabre images, images that I cannot erase. For as long as I live, they will always be there—that I know.” These are the words of Ali Iqbal, orphaned at age five, forced to flee his homeland at age nine, abandoned by his foster parents at age eleven. Now happily married and living in America, one night he receives a phone call that throws his world into utter disarray. He must go back to the place of his childhood, to rescue his friend Ahmet—a friend he owes his life to.

The hero of this novel, Ali Iqbal, is scarred by the traumatic events of his past and his heart is full of hate. But he is special: with an intelligence second to none, a talent (painting) that helps him cope with his sorrow and anger, and an ironclad heart that gives him the strength to endure and persevere, he travels from Afghanistan to Turkey and then to America. During his life's journey, he meets some amazing people, bonds with them over the simple pleasures of life, laughs with them, discovers happiness and joy in the comforting warmth of their presence. His final act of devotion and loyalty to his friend Ahmet, and the events that follow, force him to reflect on his own life and the many weeks of silent reflection bring to light something very important (that only now he is beginning to understand and accept): that as callous and cruel as the world may be, it is full of wonderful people.

This novel is the story of Ali's transformation. It carries with it a very important message that will resonate meaningfully given the times that we live in: that the Eastern world and Western world can co-exist peacefully; that the cultural, historical and political barriers that separate us are not insurmountable, because it is the humanity within us that makes us who we are.

My latest mystery thriller Searching For Hope is out now on Amazon kindle.

On a bitter January night, private detective Sam Carlisle steps out of a nightclub and stumbles across a severely wounded man prostrate on the freezing ground. Despite Sam's efforts to save him, the stranger dies in his arms, uttering three small words before taking his final breath.

Help. Me. Find.

In the days that follow, the tragic encounter plays increasingly on Sam's mind. Who was the victim? What was he trying to find? With the police investigation drawing a total blank, Sam searches for the truth himself, determined to carry out the dead man's cryptic final request. However, following in the footsteps of a murdered man brings plenty of danger of its own.

Searching For Hope is the latest mystery featuring former undercover cop Sam Carlisle as he finds himself drawn into a perilous world of unscrupulous characters, dark secrets and a family torn apart by tragedy and betrayal.

Hello,
If you are looking for a giggle, look no further than my new novel, Debtribution.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Debtribution-Eoin-Clifford-ebook/dp/B00KXH17ZM

Ireland's corrupt elite are paying the ultimate price for their greed, and the streets of Dublin's affluent south side are awash with blood. Brian Doyle, an overweight, unmotivated, middle-aged Garda, is the man tasked with protecting the creamy froth that have risen to the top of Irish society. But with his limited resources, lack of leads, and a partner who can barely tie his own shoelaces, how can he possibly stop this ruthless killer? And does anyone even want him to?

Debtribution is a humorous 'what-if' examination of Irish society. Complete with vomit, kinky sex, property, and the Catholic Church, it captures all the best bits of Irish culture. If Roddy Doyle, Paul Howard, E. L. James, and Enid Blyton were locked in a room and forced to write a novel, Debtribution would surely be it.

Hope you enjoy it :D

Sex Sells. My latest novel PORN AGAIN is now available...

“What’s it like working in a sex store?”

That’s a question that Harper ‘Happy’ Downman will soon learn the meaning of…in more ways than one.

The poster child for middle-class America, Happy is your typical button-down, conservative Christian American with a quaint home, a lovely wife and a dull sex life. At the height of the Great Recession, a drastic turn of events in both his personal and professional life rocks Happy’s world to its very core. All seems lost…that is until his lecherous older brother comes to the rescue with a ‘stimulating’ solution that’s sure to raise more than just eyebrows within his eccentric family.

Relocating to the decadent, hedonistic streets of New Orleans, he soon finds that he’s way out of his league. In a world of porn, sex toys and interesting characters, Happy takes a memorable journey of sex, love and relationships that he will never forget.

Porn Again is a funny and insightful romp proving that it’s not always the people who work in a sex store that you have to worry about. Sometimes it’s the people who shop there.

A tale of faith, love and sex toys. Read it with someone you ****.

Hello! I've posted elsewhere about my book The Dimension Scales and Other Stories and hosted a give-away on here previously - just updating again because I've released a book trailer today, and wanted to share it with you, find out what you think?

There is a lot of debate about the usefulness of trailers I've found, but the best way is usually to find out for yourself!

Would be really interested to hear what you think of it, and especially, if it would (or did) make you any more likely to buy the book? Thank you!

Although the encounter is innocent and brief, the intensity of it lingers, leaving her overwhelmed by a yearning for the mystery man now consuming her every thought.

Struggling to break the powerful hold he has over her heart, Tess starts to experience strange but familiar dreams...dreams from the turn of the twentieth century of the charming Mr Addison Taylor.

As her dreams start to materialize into reality, and past and present begin to blur, Tess is forced to put the pieces of a forgotten time together, and soon discovers that love isn't the only thing that can find you after an eternity.

I'm an old member of LT (posting regularly on groups like Let's Talk Religion, Christianity, Catholic Tradition and Librarything Railroad) but I'm a very new author. My first book, The Voice of the Voiceless: The Role of the Church in the Sudanese Civil War 1983-2005 was published in July 2014. My name is John Ashworth.

The book recounts how the churches in Sudan and what is now South Sudan acted as the voice of the oppressed and marginalised, and the churches' role in aid and development as well as working for peace, during the twenty two year civil war. The story is told through the voices of people who were there, including myself. It gives an idea of life in Sudan during those years, and addresses issues of peace, advocacy, aid and development, not just religion.

It's published by Paulines Publication Africa in Nairobi, as I believe books about Africa should be homegrown, so it's not available on Amazon, but the Paulines do have outlets in many countries and can do mail order: google Paulines Media for your country, or go to their website at http://paulinesafrica.org/ to find out how to get hold of a copy. If you can't find it, contact me on my LT profile page.

Hello,

I’ve recently published my first book, Flee The Bonds. It’s a dystopian sci-fi novel set in the next century. It is currently available in Kindle format here.

The back cover:

THE GREATEST EXISTENTIAL THREAT TO HUMANITY COMES FROM WITHIN

For more than a century, Earth’s inhabitants have known on which day their planet will be destroyed. Yet for the purest one million, the comet Colossus will not signify the end. They will escape aboard Provenance — they are Continuity.

Competition for salvation has divided humanity, only the wealthiest could afford to purge their bloodlines of genetic impurities. The Drones work for humanity’s survival, but they will never be a part of it. Those who feel aggrieved have turned to the Resistance, a cause that will only hasten their extinction.

Steve Arrowsbury lost faith long ago. As an Advocate he had accepted the inhuman reality and swore to protect Continuity from the Resistance. Then he met Penny.

Masked by the shadow of fear, humanity’s deadliest enemy is preparing to attack. Unregulated eugenics has created a new species, one that is free of ethical constraints. Their doctrine is simple, there can be only one race of human.

This novel is classified as adult fiction due to its adult themes and violent battles scenes.

Sex will change their relationship forever, and giving in could cost him his oldest friend.

Rick Ferguson can’t escape his obsession. To get Jordan out of his system, he plans a weekend away together without revealing that the mountain cabin has only one bed. Curiosity gives way to deeper feelings, forcing Rick to choose between his best friend and his own identity. Seducing Jordan could be the biggest mistake of his life.

Warning! This m/m gay erotic romance novella is intended for an adult audience. It contains scenes of groping, fumbling, wet kisses, angst, shirtless volleyball, sex toys, and two-man showers.

Hi,
I am quite new here - having been born in Transylvania, you can imagine how many times I get asked "does it actually exist?" :)

I initially set out to write a memoir of the first 19 years of my life spent under a communist dictatorship (that of N. Ceausescu) as a Hungarian minority child, however it inevitably had to include in the end the surrealism of the post-Revolution years, too...

The rapid and radical changes in the political/social system (including the system of values that everyday people use) have brought a level of chaos and corruption that even made my former homeland "win" the OCCRP's international prize for most corrupt European country.
In addition to the analysis of the paradigm shifts that society has been going through, I also had to dedicate space to the surprising parallels and similarities between certain methods used by the former totalitarian regime and contemporary Romanian and British politics - Britain having been, for the past twenty years, my country of residence.

The so-called "war on terror", irrespective of its sometimes genuine motivations, has been used as a pretext to create series of legislations and to commit acts that were seen by even the European Court of Human Rights as illegal.
Just yesterday, it turned out that British police has been using a certain part of the anti-terrorism act to find out, completely outside the judicial system, information about journalists' sources in matters entirely unrelated to terrorism.
For someone, who sees strange echoes of time in such developments in a supposedly "free" country, it is virtually imperative to include an analysis of these distortions and re-interpretations of power.

Therefore, http://www.amazon.com/Ears-Lehel-Vandor-ebook/dp/B00NMRPZGC/ contains essentially three main sections: a memoir on Ceausescu's Romania, seen with the eyes of a child and of an adolescent, a memoir of the post-1989 years of tectonic changes (and their profound side-effects on people), and an analysis of remarkably similar Romanian and British socio-political aberrations committed in the name of very different causes.

The second updated edition that has followed the 2008 edition has more information and quotes at Shelfari: http://www.shelfari.com/books/38004158/Ears

Kind regards
Lehel

My new steampunk fantasy novel just launched. Check it out!

In the world of Altadas, there are no more human births. The Regime is replacing the unborn with demons, while the Resistance is trying to destroy a drug called Hope that the demons need to survive.

Between these two warring factions lies Jacob, a man who profits from smuggling contraceptive amulets into the city of Blackout. He cares little about the Great Iron War, but a chance capture, and an even more accidental rescue, embroils him in a plot to starve the Regime from power.

When Hope is an enemy, Jacob finds it harder than he thought to remain indifferent. When the Resistance opts to field its experimental landship, the Hopebreaker, the world may find that one victory does not win a war.

I have two books out this year:

The Reluctant Groom and Other Historical Stories (A Raggedy Moon Books Collection Book 3)

Enjoy historical fiction? Like short stories? Then dive into this collection of historical shorts by an award-winning author. You'll find stories of heroism, love, and adventure such as a panicked bachelor faced with an arranged marriage, a man battling a blizzard to get home for his child's birth, a Viking shield maiden exploring a new world, and a young boy torn between love for his ailing grandmother and duty to an Empress. Whether set in imperial Rome, colonial America, or the ancient African Kingdom of Kush, these stories bring to life men and women struggling to survive and thrive--the eternal human condition.

Sword of the Gladiatrix

Two women. Two swords. One victor.
An action-packed tale that exposes the brutal underside of Imperial Rome, "Sword of the Gladiatrix" brings to life unforgettable characters and exotic settings. From the far edges of the Empire, two women come to battle on the hot sands of the arena in Nero's Rome: Afra, scout and beast master to the Queen of Kush; and Cinnia, warrior-bard and companion to Queen Boudica of the British Iceni. Enslaved, forced to fight for their lives and the Romans' pleasure; they seek to replace lost friendship, love, and family in each other's arms. But the Roman arena offers only two futures: the Gate of Life for the victors or the Gate of Death for the losers.

My new book was released in November. Snow Moon is the second book in the series, A New World.

Jessa, the queen of the Faeries, finds herself in the midst of disappearances. When she investigates those who have vanished, she discovers a rogue Sylph. He is ridding the realm of the ones he believes are diseased with the help of Trolls.
Together, Micha and Jessa discover their bloodline is more than they thought. They are both descendants of Ancients and Sylphs making them the true Elementals. The very people the Sylph is wanting rid of.
If it wasn’t enough, trying to protect her people, and the one she loves, Jessa is forced to let Micha go. She pushes him to go to the Ancients where he will be safe from the Sylph’s wrath.
When Jessa is convicted of meddling in the Sylph’s business, she is sentenced to death. Micha, accepting his new role as the Ancient king, wields their power and frees Jessa from the clutches of the Executioners.
Will Micha and Jessa save the Elementals, and themselves, or will the Sylph take control of the realms?

After years of attempting to follow the traditional publishing route, I finally published on Amazon & Kindle. Research for this novel (Slush Pile Inspector) was conducted while observing customers inside a mall bookshop. Experience was gained from receiving numerous rejections of query letters from numerous literary agents. A protagonist started to emerge in the character of Buster Scooper; Buster is the founder of a literary agency that's overwhelmed/swamped from the receipt of query letters from hopeful authors. A secret vocation in the basement of New York publishing houses emerges as Buster presents his working career. Tags are Media Management, Humor & Adventure, Political Campaign, Film Project. The work is a novel written to entertain a general audience of readers including writers, authors, literary agents, journalists, voters, and filmmakers as well as dog lovers. Best of All -- Slush Pile Inspector is FREE on Kindle 2 - 6 March 2017. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008CQUY5K

Hi All,

I'm new to this group and I apologise that my first message is a promotion. However, "And the Wolf Shall Dwell" my debut novel is free again on Amazon only TODAY Thursday 14th Sep for Kindle, in order to celebrate our book launch held here in London tonight (msg me if you want to come, all invited!)

here's one link which will send you to the right Amazon:
http://myBook.to/AtWSD

Also you can raffle a FREE paperback here (ends tomorrow!)
http://www.bookgobbler.com/2017/08/13/and-the-wolf-shall-dwell-joni-dee/

I'm adding the book blurb, it's essentially a political/spy thriller setup in London,

John Daniel, a foreign professional working in the city of London bumps into an old man who's running away from two guys, on his way to work on a cold London Morning. The old man manages a garbled message not before he jumps in front of a speeding train.
Meanwhile, retired MI6 agent Adam Grey received a call from an old informant: “Your service is rotten...”

Soon Adam is dragged out of retirement, and John is dragged into the murky world of international espionage, politics, and jihadi terrorism.
An intense and explosive thriller that hits frighteningly close to the truth for a work of fiction."

To try and not be a blunt promotion kind of guy (I am really not like that, I only discovered LibraryThing today!) I am sticking around all day - if anyone wants to discuss me, my book or London/spy thrillers in general.. will be happy to chat :-)

many thanks
Joni

She is here for a reason but realizes it is not for Edward, even though she loved him from that first moment. She sees the doubt in his eyes when she is accused of witchcraft, but it matters not, for as she flees to London, where a devastating plague is spreading rapidly across the city, she knows they will meet again.

Centuries later, Rachel encounters both friends and enemies from her past.

Finding the Way by Wayne Ng

No LT page for this one yet. Wayne is a fellow member of my critique group who managed to get his draft through our trial-by-fire (we are merciless to one another) and found himself a publisher. He's lacking a Canadian distributor, which is causing problems for all the family/friends trying to get one, but it's up on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Finding-Way-Novel-Lao-Tzu/dp/9888422782/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF...

There's not a lot of Chinese historical fiction to be had, or many fictional novels with the historical figure Lao Tzu as a character, so he's covering a niche market. Wayne has Chinese ancestry, which is to say he dodged the cultural appropriation bullet. I'm still trying to get my published copy, but the draft version was full of political intrigue and deep-thought Chinese philosophy (Lao Tzu vs Confucius). Really happy for him, years of research and work went into this and I hope he finds the audience he deserves.

My second historical novel, "Alsoomse and Wanchese," was published May 28. The following is on the back cover.

“Mother, I want to question things. Know the why of things. Decide things. Why must weroances, priests, and a husband – kind or not -- decide who I must be?”
“We gave you your name for a reason.”
“That is not an answer.”
“Be respectful, child, dutiful. The gods have taught us our roles. We must obey them, please them. We must please also the wise ones who speak to them. Life is perilous, Alsoomse. Kiwasa makes it so. Weigh what you think before you act. Accept.”

He marveled at the potency of his temper. He was surprised that his blow to Askook’s head had not been followed by a fist to the throat and a crushing knee to the side of the skull.
He savored the idea.
Something inside him had interfered.
Had Askook been a Pomouik, he would not have hesitated. He was a warrior. Any man who chose to make himself an enemy needed to beware.
Askook had laid bare his deficiency.

Roanoke Island. 1583. Hunter’s Moon. Rejecting tribal conformity, deciding for themselves what is true, what is just, desiring independence, accomplishment, fulfillment, 17-year-old Alsoomse and 19-year-old Wanchese take flight.

Hi guys! Just want to let you all know that my book, Guards Gone Wild!, is now available at LocalBooks.sg.

The book is a memoir of my experiences in the private security industry. There’s plenty to tell. Scams perpetrated by security agencies and guards. Intense confrontations with delinquents and work colleagues. Funny moments to make you laugh and frustrating moments that made me cry. And so on and so forth.

But I don't want you to just laugh or cry along with me. In order to reduce conflicts between security guards and the general public, I think there are some serious questions that need to be asked.

For example, why are some shopping malls are more popular with delinquents than others? Why do security guards get cranky when customers want to enter the department store at the very last minute? Are security guards overworked? What are the negative effects of sleep deprivation? The answers to these questions and more can be found in my book.

Which is available at https://localbooks.sg/products/guards-gone-wild.

A copy costs S$20 before GST. Shipping within Singapore is FREE for all orders delivered via SingPost. For international shipments, shipping fees is a flat rate of $20.

Hey Everyone,

Just published my first novel. Trying to get the word out if anyone's interested (details below).
Currently posted for free at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/938894. Available in all the formats with an excerpt to see whether it's your style. I appreciate the love and support.

Title: Twisting in Headstands and Heavy Drinking

Synopsis: In an unruly Midwest town, Tristan – a college fraternity president – pinballs between failed relationships in an unholy battle with depression. Locked in savage self-abuse at the hands of booze and cigarettes – and surrounded by a collection of part-time degenerates he calls, "Brothers" – Tristan must confront his own inner turmoil, as he searches desperately for some main vein of American life in the swirling backdrop of mental illness.

If you like Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar; Susanna Kaysen's Girl, Interrupted; Jack Kerouac's On the Road; or S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders; then this might fit your sensibilities.

Thanks Everyone.

The Poinciana Tree is available for pre-order now, for release on 23 September.

The Poinciana Tree

This story is set around the beautiful Poinciana tree, with its amazing red flowers.
Suzanne Matthews arrives home from work to find the kitchen in disarray and her daughter missing. After searching the house, her eyes turn towards the garden, drawn to the Poinciana tree. Underneath its canopy she sees her daughter, slumped against its trunk.
When the police are unable to identify Jennifer’s killer, they turn their attention to her husband, Mark. Whilst trying to cope with her grief, she finds herself fighting to prove her husband’s innocence, as her world is turned upside down. She is inspired by another woman, who went with her husband to the Sudan as medical volunteers for a charity organisation.
A tale of raw emotion, desperation and acceptance.

Been reviewing nonfiction here since LT first opened. Two a week. So as not to lose it, I have taken the highlights and woven them into 16 essays (by topic) in a book called The Straight Dope, or What I learned from my first thousand nonfiction reviews. It is available at amazon, which is offering a rather attractive discount - 100% - for the e-book edition to Prime members. I would love to have your opinion posted on LT and amazon. I need feedback of all kinds, private and public.

$0.99 on Amazon!--Or, if you're a Kindle Unlimited member... it's FREE!

"A troubled Army vet wishes he were dead...
A lonely vampyre wishes she were human...
And a ruthless drug lord wishes he were immortal..."

Not your typical vampire book, with a twist on a tired genre. It's a love story with action, gore, gun mayhem, nerdy humor, and a little sex. Getting great reviews. Whatcha got to lose for a buck?

Hello!

My name is M.O. LeClair. Nice to "meet" you all!

My first book 'Concrete Jungle' is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The release date is September 4th, 2021. It's a suspense/thriller/mystery book.

You can visit the library at my official website if you'd like to read some at: www.rwavp.com

Here's the Amazon pre-order link: www.amazon.ca/dp/B08KGQSFWS and the book trailer link is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fVKZmiCGcE

Here's the book jacket description:

When Nylah Diamond, a young psychiatry student, becomes aware of a new case study, she becomes obsessed with it; something about it intrigues her.

She wants to know about every detail, every statement, every piece of evidence and everyone involved.

...someone else wants it left in the past...

She becomes determined to help piece together everything that has seemingly been hidden and scattered everywhere for so long...

...things that were meant to stay scattered and hidden. Something doesn't make sense.

Some things from childhood, they stick with you, forever. Small things, big things, what seem like such insignificant things; change things. Change people.

...and if "Dr" Diamond doesn't let sleeping dogs lie, she may be the next to get bitten.

All of the things you think don't matter, matter most. What you think matters most, may mean nothing at all. People are animals. Savages. It's a concrete jungle out there, and even something as small as a snake in the grass, or a spider in a tree, can take down a lion; the king of the jungle.

I can't wait to chat with everyone. Have a wonderful day!

Although this is my first published book, I have been writing for years. I've written short stories, to poems, and even novels on paper (in junior high I didn't have a computer).

I've always loved urban fantasy, Japanese manga and light novels, and some horror books. I am happy to be apart of this community where I can learn much more about different authors and other books.

I have a short story that's been completed for some time for which I've been trouble finding a market, in part because it's multi-media -- it has an 80-second video and clickable memo and script pages with "handwritten" notes on them. I got some kind rejections from editors explaining that they publish both online and in print so this wouldn't work for them.

So.... I finally self-published it on my blog. I would call this a multi-media, slightly comedic alternate history story. It features Mel Blanc as a character along with one of his voiced characters who is in the public domain. I really had a lot of fun with this, and would be grateful if anyone wants to check it out. I will say that formatting was challenging for me as I'm not a web wizard, so the video and clickable pages looks slightly off-center, but that rights itself once you click on them.

This weekend, I'm running a promotion on my entire first trilogy of light paranormal/steampunk adventures.

What if paranormal powers were transmissible, but their recipients declared a threat to society?

After a duty-mandated killing, a man's conscience leads him into increasing trouble when he opposes a corrupt official. A Quiet Rebellion: Guilt is Book 1, and FREE this weekend.

To protect those he loves, a man struggles against the killer who framed him: even if it leads to his own death. A Quiet Rebellion: Restitution is Book 2, and 0.99 this weekend.

When paranormal abilities are viewed as a curse, it's an uphill struggle to persuade your people to accept them. Especially when you're the queen. A Quiet Rebellion: Posterity is Book 3, and 0.99 this weekend.

If you miss the sale or don't want to commit yourself to a purchase of the later books, all my books are available through Kindle Unlimited.

Hey everyone,
I wanted to introduce my book, Walk-On Warrior, to non fiction readers and those interested in sports or motivational reads:

https://amzn.to/2zL66h3

The book details my experiences as a basketball walk-on at Marquette, working for Hall of Fame coach, Rick Majerus, assisting the Milwaukee Bucks, and how basketball opened doors for me that I never thought were possible. Growing up in a small town, I hope this book inspires young athletes that want to play at the next level and provides a sincere and authentic look at what it's like to play division 1 college basketball.

Why is this book unique? The aim here wasn't to write a “Rudy-type” story. Rather, it's a raw look into the day to day of big-time college sports, the people you meet, and how thousands of hours on the basketball court ultimately prepared me for a career that has nothing to do with basketball. Despite being self-published, the book has been a best selling college basketball book on Amazon for the past two years.

THE BAR AT THE INTERGALACTIC HOTEL

https://amzn.to/3s8UKw8

Released Jan 1,2021

Starred review: 5 Stars

IN SPACE, NO ONE WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS...One day, in 1994, just as he was poised to land a major cover story in Rolling Stone magazine, music journalist, Derek Christian, is whisked away by a mysterious man with multiple arms and tentacles, named Kent, and deposited in a luxury hotel called the Intergalactic, which is populated by beings and creatures from across the galaxy. No one remembers why they are there, who is in charge, or what exactly the hotel is. Is it a massive spaceship parked in stationary orbit on the outskirts of GN-z11? An Astral Plane of Heaven? A place where souls go between incarnations? The heavenly paradise where Osiris rules? A liminal plane located somewhere in Arizona, possibly near Tucson? A hologram? A cosmic bus depot? All Derek knows is that he feels a prisoner, and he wants answers, no matter how many gala luncheons and Champagne buffets the hotel throws. And with the help of some friends: a beautiful humanadroid named Desree, a wisecracking robot named Drillbit, a crackpot polymath named Anonymous, a self-satisfied rock star named Vim Starbucket, Koalemos, the Greek god of stupidity--and the mysterious Kent--he is determined to find those answers (although he probably won't).

Fans of Douglas Adams Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Neil Gaiman Good Omens, Terry Pratchett Discworld, Larry Niven Ringworld may find it fun.

Hi everyone,

The ebook for my new sci-fi/mystery novel is now out.

Here's the blurb:

MUNKi

The winter her grandfather died, Cari Silvestri swapped her home town for a new life. But the past is not so easily outrun. Almost ten years on, Grandfather returns, his stolen memories repackaged by technology giant Merrywhile Industries as a slick marketing promo for their latest project: digital immortality. But when no one believes her, Cari’s search for proof and answers gradually draws her into a lawless digital underworld.

Mel Faith is also haunted by the past. Her journalistic career circling the drain, she finds herself still obsessed with the one piece she never filed – the tragic history of Michael Sommeil, grandson of Merrywhile’s founder. It’s a story with few leads and fewer prospects, but at whose heart – she’s sure – a secret still sits untold.

As their paths intertwine, the two women enter a world of masks and aliases, of mercenary hackers and corporate spies, and where, underlying it all, is the hunt for the Singularity – the point, both feared and hoped for, where AI will finally surpass human understanding, and nothing will ever again be the same.

A sci-fi novel set in the near future, MUNKi is an intricate cybergothic fairy tale, a philosophical exploration of memory, death and identity, and the ambiguous role that technology has come to play in all our lives.

Topics cover love , erotic love, poverty , substance abuse, youth and gun violence, some poems are even religious. One of the short stories centers around an abusive, neglectful mother and how her behaviours effect her daughter and son.The other short story symbolizes beauty in being a misfit or rather not fitting into the so called category of not being conventional, normal , or status quo and how sometimes people can have cruel reactions to something that is different or new

My new non-fiction book An Angry Shepherd: Sudanese Bishop Macram Max Gassis, (Paulines Publications Africa, Nairobi) is now available. It's a specialised subject, the official biography of a retired Sudanese Catholic bishop who is still active both in humanitarian work in his own country and in international advocacy against slavery and religious persecution. It attempts not only to tell the story of a remarkable man but also to reflect on some of the dynamics within Sudan. Probably not a best seller. It'll be on sale in the publisher's own bookshops in Nairobi, Kenya, in Kampala, Uganda, and in Juba, South Sudan.

My first book One Bad Day After Another is out.

Baker Somerset was a Scotland Yard Detective sent to Ottawa to help solve a brutal kidnapping case. After the suspect put four bullets in her, she decided to stay in Ottawa and open her own detective agency, Case Closed Investigations. In this first book a dead body at her office door leads back to the kidnapping that brought her to Canada, and to bribery, fraud, and illegal activity in the military arms and equipment industry.

I changes the way we pick themes for the annual SF/F/H anthology series Triangulation, which I started in 2003. We're now selecting environmental themes. This year is sustainable housing. The Triangulation: Habitats IndieGoGo campaign is on now through August 3, then the book will be out. You can snag some unique perks if you support us now, like a tour of my tiny house.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/habitats-short-story-anthology#/

In 2019 Triangulation: Dark Skies was about light pollution.
Last year, Triangulation: Extinction was about the loss of biodiversity.
Next year's eco-theme for Triangulation 2022? Will be announced soon . . .
Get yourself a set.

Parsec is a 501c3 charitable organization. Parsec Ink is the publishing branch and the dozen+ young writers on our staff are learning the process of putting together an anthology.

If you enjoy deep, meaningful conversations then you might like my recent interview on A Woman’s soul Restored with Latonia Hendry. On this spiritual podcast, we shared stories of healing from childhood trauma and pain. We talk about how past traumas don’t define or dictate one’s future. Through these conversations, I hope that you can also learn to reclaim your power, to believe in yourself, and rise up with confidence and spirit.

Hi! My name is Tamar Tremaine. I just published a book of funny dating stories called Salty Flames. It's available here:

https://www.amazon.com/Salty-Flames-Tales-Modern-Dating/dp/195355511X/ref=tmm_hr...

Book blurb below in case you're interested :).

ARE YOU FEELING ALONE IN THE LAND OF HAPPY COUPLES?
Afraid to download a dating app? Nervous to go on a first date? Curious what online dating is like? Upset that you're never "the one?" Too many duds and not enough studs? You are far from alone...

TAMAR TREMAINE has gone on hundreds of first dates and chatted online with thousands of men over the last ten years. On a few occasions, she has even gone on as many as three dates in one day. (Not recommended.) According to Malcolm Gladwell, author of Outliers, it takes 10,000 hours and approximately ten years to become an expert. Tamar has easily spent 10,000 hours swiping, going on dates, and staring at her phone waiting for that cute guy to text her back. However, this book is not "Tamar Tremaine: Expert in Online Dating." This book is for you. Through a series of highly relatable short stories, Tamar reveals her crazy dating history. From in-person dating, to online dating, to quarantine dating, Tamar inspires readers to keep trying, download that app, and go on that date. After all, there's usually a good story in the end!

In September I published The Maple Motherload: A Guide to All Things Maple, available on Amazon.
This book features maple products and explains how they're made. It introduces the reader to the people across North America who produce maple products and where visitors can go to tour a sugar camp, restaurants that serve maple meals, and shops that carry large selections of maple products. There are maple recipes for both food and cocktails.
This was the first time I used a professional photographer and I was really pleased with the results, especially since I'm a lousy photographer myself.

Feel free to have a look at an experimental novella of mine.

Schizocaucasus

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Schizocaucasus-Beslan-Tsatiashvili/dp/B0BDP112V3/ref=sr...

The reality of increasingly apparent nestedness, fractality and universal subsumption encroaches on the westernized conception of regularity, anticipating and calling out for the literature of assemblages.
Amid the accelerating centripetal movement of the cultural space, the many realms of the global periphery suffer through aberrations completely alien in character and effect. A decrepit village in the depths of the Caucasus undergoes a painful retracement of its historicity on the backdrop of ever-escaping and dispersing global narratives. Its many characters, figures, and forms become the demonstration machinery for the unfurling of the omnipresent reality-decay project.
A work tracing spaces of religion, conquest, and filiation delineating temporalities of history, violence, and perpetual becoming. A vast geometry of ethnogenesis conceived through the looking glass of a contemporary production complex. Unbounded poetics of annihilation in the process of self-referential becoming. Finally, a deconstruction of the overbearing real in search of radical difference.

I am happy (and grateful to all of those who helped me) to announce the birth of my new book, An Introduction to Complexity Pedagogy, Using Critical Theory, Critical Pedagogy and Complexity in Performance and Literature. I received my copies in the mail today from the publisher, Myers Education Press. According to Amazon, it is "temporarily out of stock," but Amazon should be getting its copies soon. I write about two authors, LeAnne Howe (Choctaw) and Gloria Anzaldua (Chicana lesbian), and the performance artists Karen Finley and collaborators Bob Flanagan/Sheree Rose. The word "complexity" in the title refers to what used to be called "chaos theory." I worked with a geophysicist on research presented in this book.

Book three of my sci-fi trilogy is out on April 17. Time to read the first two!

What would you do if you found yourself on or in another world? Do you have the skills and knowledge needed to survive or to make sense of what you see?
Thomas sets out on a hike he has done many times before. Taking only what he needs for the three or four hours he expects to be gone, he passes a vehicle in the parking lot. The handwritten note on the dashboard read: Not Abandoned. The view at the end of the trail was not what he expected—neither were the friendships.
Two adventurous people in an unknown world. Only their physical fitness and combined knowledge will get them through everything they may encounter.

Book one can be read as a stand alone.

Impact - A woman interrogates the men who raped her.

Gender Fraud: a fiction - A feminist dystopia about 'gender identity'. Also shortlisted for the Eric Hoffer Award.

What Happened to Tom - He wakes up one morning to find his body’s been hijacked and turned into a human kidney dialysis machine. For nine months he has to stay connected to Simon or Simon will die.

Fighting Words: notes for a future we won't have - Fact-driven fiction. Speculative. Provocative. What could've been. What should've been.

Jess - Jess used to be a man. Then he found himself in a female body. It wasn’t funny. Why would anyone even think it was?

Exile - In a new U.S.A., there's a new three strikes law: first offence, rehab; second offence, prision, third offense, well, you're just kicked out. A novella about the social contract.

My debut novel seven years in the making has been published, a terrifying mix of fantasy mythology and science fiction surrealism, a tale of mortals and spirits, living or dead: Wings of Nialoca, Book One: The Spectre's Eye.

Light and darkness have always been seen as good and evil. This is a dangerous lie. The truly evil use both for their gain. On the distant planet of Nialoca, a warlock named Vansyk has eliminated the deities of light and darkness, surrounding the planet in a great cloud and blotting out the eyes of the spirit world. However, he never knew that they had a backup plan. Two teenagers from very different worlds, one a doctor and the other a thief, discover that they have the same origin. And together they join an infant spirit-turned-mortal on a journey through their country to defeat Vansyk with the one legendary stoner the world of Nialoca fears, one that is said to raise spirits from the afterlife: The Spectre's Eye.

Wings of Nialoca is a 489 page novel available for digital download on Amazon Kindle, or free with Kindle Unlimited. Get it for $4.36 until Sunday when the price rises. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BT8Q1KW8/

The Deeper Dark, A Psychological Thriller - Michael Allen

Does it have ninjas? Uh, no.
Does it have strippers? Afraid not.
Witches, vampires, superheroes? None of those things.
Then, what is deep and dark about it? It has hackers and government corruption. It has a human trafficking syndicate with thugs who take orders from very high people. Is that dark enough?
You have my attention...

When a hero comes home from the war, he finds his world went on without him and now he has a new war to fight as a corrupt network of evil threatens the only person he has left in his life.

Currently, Amazon has taken it upon itself to lower the cost of the paperback quite significantly. Of course, it's also on Kindle. https://www.amazon.com/Deeper-Dark-Michael-Allen/dp/B08P64B2PJ/

Greetings!

My novel, Death's Pale Flag, was recently released.
Brain surgeon Ryan Brenan's life comes unglued when he begins to be haunted by an escalating series of ghosts. Is he losing his mind? Could the ghosts possibly be real? If so, what could they want? And, in they end, can they be in any way more terrifying than what he faces daily in the operating rooms, ICU's, and trauma bays?

Review by author Martin Clark:
I’ve been on a roll with remarkable books lately. Immediately prior to reading Death’s Pale Flag, I was just blown away by Steve Saroff’s masterpiece, Paper Targets. And Death’s Pale Flag is also pretty darn amazing, just a delight, a book by a real-life neurosurgeon who can write like nobody’s business (think James Lee Burke or John Hart), who has built a smart, clever, challenging story (think Roland Merullo), and who—no surprise here—takes readers on a fascinating and often heartbreaking private tour of what it’s like to patch up people’s brains and spines. This is a ghost story that’ll make you cry and a marriage tale worthy of John Cheever that’ll scare the daylights out of you. A big hat tip and a deep bow to Gary Simonds—I was moved and entertained, and more important perhaps, I’m a little better person for having spent time with Ryan Brenan. Definitely five-star work.
