My sister got a new job as a librarian at Jackson Elementary School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but their book selection leaves something to be desired, so I am doing a book drive for her!

Here are the books they need the most:

Board Books - This school has a Pre-K class, but started with zero board books! I sent them 10, but more are definitely needed. Please no books with moving parts (peek-a-boo flaps, etc) as they do not hold up well.

Kids Books in Spanish and Spanish/English Books - Many of their students come from Spanish speaking homes, where their parents may have poor literacy skills. They would love to have lots of books that these kids could take home and read with their parents.

Graphic Novels/Comics - Elementary age appropriate, of course. Series such as Babymouse, Amulet, Bone, Owly, Geronimo Stilton, Captain Underpants, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, etc, are all EXTREMELY popular.

Current Non-Fiction Books - Prefer 2010 or newer, 2005 is low limit. Especially in need of books about dinosaurs, space, animals, cars/vehicles/machines/etc., crafting/drawing, sports, Guinness records, joke books, anything with "extreme" in the title, the juvenile nonfiction equivalent of cracked (10 grossest insects, 5 biggest trucks, etc).

Books about popular TV/movie characters - Current ones.

Scary/Creepy books - Goosebumps, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and similar

The books do not need to be in perfect condition, as long as they are not falling apart, have stains, are sticky, etc, they'll work.

If you are interested, contact me via Bookmooch (rainbowgirl28) and I can send you the address, OR I am happy to mooch them off you :)

I just picked up three Bone books for my son (so they are still in good shape). I'll ask him if he wants to keep them, and if he's willing, I'll send them to you.
