I just ran across a new George Marshall biography:
George Marshall: A Biography by Debi Unger, Irwin Unger, and Stanley Hirshson (Author)
I have not yet managed to examine a hardcover copy of this title, but the preview pages available online are excellent.

I have this book on my Amazon wish list. I have long admired Marshall for his character. We could use a few people like him today.

Damb you >1 suburbguy:, I have just started reading Eyes only the top secret correspondence between Marshall and Eisenhower by Andrew Rawson and I suspect I have another book about Rooservelt and his Generals which has a potted
biography of Marshall. Your suggestion sounds like something I must add to my TBR pile. Yes Marshall was a great man!

However, Carlo d'Este (!!) in his Wall Street Journal review of this book claims : "Although published some years ago, Forrest C. Pogue’s tour-volume official biography (1963-87) and Ed Cray’s “General of the Army” (1990) remain the standard accounts."

Re: 5
What was the date of the WSJ book review by Carlo d'Este?
The Amazon.com reviews of the new book suggest that the authors were too critical of General Marshall.

I had this on my Amazon.com Wish List, but the reviews on Amazon were not impressed by the book. I have Pogue's four-volume set, so I scratched the other book from my list.
