I keep up with writer's obituaries for the Written in Stone group and oftentimes come across remarkable stories of former diplomats. Just today I noted the passing of Robert B. Oakley who negotiated the release in the Black Hawk Down incident. If the group is interested, and it seems in need of a bit of reviving, I'll post those stories here.
