Is there a word for that feeling? That feeling you get after going on a book buying binge over the weekend, then come Monday morning to you catalog all your books to library thing and NONE of them are ULTB. The best you do it 4!

Not that I buy books just on hopes of them be ULTB. Four other people have "Wood-Frame House Construction:Agriculture Handbook No. 73" It's a department of Agriculture book that retails for $.60 and 4 other people have it! I mean I could have pick up that copy of "Pretenious Livre Français" by 'Soufflez Gars Dur' that would have been a ULTB but who really wants "Pretenious Livre Français".

I was at the library this morning, and both of the two German picture books I read there are singletons. Don't know yet about the books I borrowed.

2> You catalog books from the library?

Yes, to track my reading. What do you think the standard 'Read but Unowned' Collection is for?

4> I always thought "Read but Unowned Collection" was for Lost books, or books you don't have space for. Hmmm maybe I should create a collection call "Over due" ;-)

"LibraryThing is for your books—books you own, have read or want. "

Well, my library books get added at the point where I want to read them. (Except for those I read right there, and therefore have already read.)

Of the last 100 books I read, 10 are library books that noone else has entered on LT. All in German, and many of them children's books. I couldn't keep track of them if I didn't enter them. They would also not be available to touchstone.

6> I just never thought of doing that. I thought it was funny I never thought of thinking of doing that. Catalog On!

I catalog books as I read them, too, although I do very little library borrowing. However, I own a used bookstore, and about every 4th book or so that I read is "borrowed" from the store and then returned there. Also, if I read a book and then get rid of it for some reason, say if I don't like it or don't have a burning desire to keep it (normally "commercial-type" recent thrillers that I know I can sell quickly in the store), whatever happens to it, I will keep in in my LT library but with the tag, "released."

8> Hmmm that's what I should call my library....a used bookstore. Another good use of ULTB. "Released" I like that.
