Multiple freebies & ARCS:

* The Devil Takes a Bride by Julia London

* Kilts & Daggers by Victoria Roberts

* A Sword for His Lady by Mary Wine

* _The Great Estate_ by Sherri Browning

* _The Drifter_ by Anna Schmidt

* Brave the Heat by Sara Humphreys

* _The Rogue You Know_ by Shana Galen

* The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne

All are historical romance except the Sara Humphreys. Brought them home mostly because nobody else was taking them & the shelves of unwanted ARCs were full. The Wine got a good review from RT. The Byrne I brought home in spite of the heroine's name (Farah, ick).

The Schmidt I chose because she's a Wisconsin author. The Galen I chose because I liked the few of her books I read years ago.

Bought a book. I'm a sucker for WWI fiction. This is The First of July by Elizabeth Speller, about the first day of the Battle of the Somme.

My historical fiction book group read and liked The Return of Captain John Emmett. Another member went on to also read The Strange Fate of Kitty Easton, which is on my TBR list, too.

Oh crow! Cock-a-doodle-doo! I just came away from a Friends of the Library sale with 22 books and 3 CDs for $33. Most are hardbacks and many are Folio Society, Franklin Library and Library of America editions.

Another ARC. Not sure about the Chopra aspect of it, but it sounds like it might be about epigenetics, from the title: Super Genes: Unlock the Astonishing Power of Your DNA for Optimum Health and Well-Being by Deepak Chopra and Rudolph E. Tanzi.
