Carl Llewellyn Weschcke, head of Llewellyn Worldwide publishing, passed away November 7 at age 85. He purchased Llewellyn in 1961 and under his ownership it became the largest publisher of occult and metaphysical books in the world. He is sometimes called the Father of the New Age because of the influence of Llewellyn books.

P F Sloan, songwriter, known for Eve of Destruction, the most famous Sixties protest song NOT written by Bob Dylan, died of pancreatic cancer on November 15th, aged 70.

Cynthia Payne (1), notorious as the keeper of a disorderly house in Streatham, London, frequented by the great and good in the 1970s, died on November 15th, aged 82.

Irish jockey Pat Eddery died November 10 at the age of 63. He wrote To Be A Champion.

Historian Hans Mommsen died on November 5 at the age of 85. His books include The Rise and Fall of Weimar Democracy and Alternatives to Hitler.

Stravinsky expert Robert Craft died November 10 at the age of 92. His books include Stravinsky: Chronicle of a Friendship and Stravinsky: In Pictures and Documents.

Brothel keeper Cynthia Payne died November 15 at the age of 83. She wrote Cynthia Payne's Book of Home entertainment.

Actor Saeed Jaffrey died November 15 at the age of 86. His memoir was called Saeed.

Historian Christopher Duggan died November 2 at the age of 57. His books include The Force of Destiny, A Concise History of Italy and Fascist Voices.

New Zealand rugby player Jonah Lomu died November 18 at the age of 40. His autobiography was called Jonah: My Story.

Prolific author Stephen Birmingham died November 15 at the age of 86. His books include The Rest of us: The Rise of America's Eastern European Jews, "Our Crowd": The Great Jewish Familes of New York and The Grandees: America's Sephardic Elite.

An old friend, Gerald F. Zepeda, author of The Elizabethan Language Book, passed away yesterday (November 18). He had heart trouble, and I expect that it was his heart. I'll miss him; he was a good human being.

Actor Keith Michell, best known for his role as Henry VIII in the early 70s TV series The Six Wives of Henry VIII, died on November 20 at the age of 88. In addition to his acting skills, he was a cookbook author and wrote The Practically Macrobiotic Cookbook.

Founder of Kiplinger's magazine Austin H. Kiplinger died November 20 at the age of 97. His books include Washington Now (A Cass Canfield Book), Kiplinger's Looking Ahead and Kiplinger Forecasts.

Painter Adele Mailer died November 22 at the age of 90. Her memoir of her life with her ex-husband was called The Last Party: Scenes From my Life with Norman Mailer.

Nobel winning economist Douglass C. North died November 23 at the age of 95. His books include Institutions, Institutional Change and Economic Performance and The Rise of the Western World: A New Economic History.
