Well I truly didn't intend buying any books today. I DID intend visiting a secondhand store where I hoped I would find a very nice bookcase to hold some of the books I as yet have no home for.
But oh no! There was not a bookcase to be found.................only more books!!
Now I have to say here that it was my hubby who kept piling books into my arms. He had spotted several orange spined Penguins and just kept them coming until there were 12 in all. Add to that 8 other books that I thought would be very interesting and before I knew it there were the 20 books.
I'll list the orange Penguins forst.
Out of Africa and Shadows on the Grass by Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen
Shardik by Richard Adams
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark
The Country Girls by Edna O' Brien
Cal by Bernard MacLaverty
The Ghost Road by Pat Barker
The Eye in the Door by Pat Barker
The L-Shaped Room by Lynne Reid Banks
Two is Lonely by Lynne Reid Banks
The Whispering Land by Gerald Durrell
The Stories of Eva Luna by Isabel Allende
Perfume The Story of a Murder by Patrick Suskind

The others are:
Silence is October by Jens Christian Grondahl
Affinity by Sarah Waters
The Dud Avocado by Elaine Dundy
Innocent Traitor by Alison Weir
The Country Life Book of Britain in the Seventies by Ronald Allison
Accordion Crimes by E. Annie Proulx
An Unofficial Rose by Iris Murdoch
Bags by Claire Wilcox (A very interesting book published by the Victoria & Albert Museum)

So, that was my haul.
Cost around the £10 mark but I was quite happy to pay that for what I got.
