I am active in the TIOLI ("Take It Or Leave It") challenges each month.
This month I added a challenge to read a book written at least 50 years ago, to help me read my TBSL books that are languishing on the shelves.
The challenge group is here if you're interested in joining us:

Joy in the Morning (1963) - Betty Smith

I read a few old SF stories from Gutenberg this afternoon
Picture Bride (1955)
The Weather on Mercury (1953)
Year of the Big Thaw (1954)
and also Too Fat to Fight (1919)
None of them was really bad, but they weren't great literature either.

I'm going to combine this challenge with ROOT challenge. Some of the books I wanted to read were written 100 years ago or more.

Can someone else please confirm that this touchstone works both here and in >2 MarthaJeanne:, but doesn't appear on the right?

An ILL just arrived, Mistress Pat. It's not due until March 12th, so I have all of February to read it!
And it's lovely, a first edition from 1935, with a tissue paper page between a color plate and the title page, nice!

Yes, I redid them today, as it seems to be working now.

>10 harrygbutler: you are very welcome!
I've a bunch of books that will fit this as well, but where will I find the time to read them all...?
