Historian and WWII veteran Chief Joseph Medicine Crow died April 3 at the age of 102. He was the last living person to have heard direct oral accounts of the events of the Little Big Horn. He wrote Counting Coup: Becoming a Crow Chief on the Reservation and Beyond, From the Heart of Crow Country and Brave Wolf and the Thunderbird.
