Our cats are very different. The most recent one only squeaks. She may be part Siamese. I believe Siamese cats have a very different "accent" than most other cats.

Thank you for posting this - it's a really interesting study. Mind you, my cats look at me like I've been smoking drugs if I try to speak their language.

Siamese don't squeak - they yowl! If you don't do what they want straight away, they yowl even louder (a bit like what they used to say about the English abroad).

>4 Zambaco: OK, that is a very good point. How about a Russian Blue? Several people have said she might be a Russian Blue. I can't remember how to embed a photo into this page, so here is the link:

Could be, but it's rather hard to say. Could simply be "blue" colored. But yeah Siamese are rather loud, lol.

My 3 are all quite different. One (the British shorthair mix) does very scratchy noises (and "coos" when she purrs, sounds like a dang dove), one (the European shorthair) makes fairly soft sounds, and one (the Maine Coon) has a massive repertoire of trills and yells and shouts and mews and all sorts of things and talks forever.
