Today we lost The Great Pat Summitt, a gracious and inspiring leader for women's sports! She inspired a generation of young women in both the game of Basketball and more importantly the game of life. God speed Pat, you shall be missed by many admirers!

Thanks. Can you give us some idea of who she was and what she did, for those of us who have never heard of her?

Pat Summitt was a former basket ball player at University of TN. She medaled on the 1976 Olympic team. She pioneered the women's college basketball program as a head coach and mentor. Starting from modest resources to make a dynasty in women's basketball, winning many conference championships and 8 national titles.

Formerly and more so this past weekend when the news leaked that her health was rapidly declining, people who know her always make the point that her accomplishments as player and coach were overshadowed by her accomplishments as a person, a mother, and a friend.

So many stories today and this past weekend.

One of the greatest accomplishments is that all her players who stayed 4 years at UT, graduated.

She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about 5 years ago. She died this morning.
