I just noticed the new customization form on the LoA's website; several titles that I hadn't heard of before: Norman Mailer
Four Books of the 1960s and Mailer
Collected Essays of the 1960s. Also Wendell Berry Port William Novels & Stories, from the Civil War to World War II.
Reconstruction Voices from America's First Great Struggle for Racial Equality.

Thank you, the rest of the titles were all familiar: 2 vol of JQ Adam's dairies, 2 vol Peter Taylor's stories, P Roth collected non-fiction, etc

Is this form the same as the mailed (paper) form used by subscribers to identify titles for inclusion in the subscription?
This is only my second year as a subscriber, I was wondering if I would have to fill out a new form, or if there was a way to review my past selections and edit them. If that's what's available online, that's ideal for me.

Yes, from the site;
2017–2018 Subscription Customization Form
"In late March, current Library of America subscribers will receive a packet in the mail containing the 2017–2018 title announcement and subscription customization form.
You can use this form to customize your subscription. (The mailing has additional details on each of the new titles.) Be sure to check one box for each title."
In addition to other announced titles, there are 15 titles that are back in print; both volumes of Abraham Lincoln's writings, both volumes of Mark Twains's stories, speeches, both volumes of Reporting WW II and so on.

7Podras.
Have the late March mailed packets been mailed yet? It is mid-April, and I haven't yet received mine.

I received mine in today's mail. Based on the write-up about Wendell Berry, I'm guessing this is the first of two volumes containing the Port William novels and stories, since the volume is said to contain 4 novels and 23 stories, whereas the full Port William series contains 8 novels and 47 stories. The title of the volume ("from the Civil War to World War II") is also indicative that we can expect a second volume later on.

My postal receipts indicate that the packets all mailed on March 27. I'm not sure why everyone hadn't received them last week, but lots of subscribers seem to be getting their copies only now. (Thanks, USPS!)
The printed "deadline" is late next week, but we really don't need to have the forms back until May 10 (or thereabouts) since none of the titles on the form will be added to subscriber shipments until then. Or, of course, you can use the online form.

Finally arrived to the Seattle 'burbs yesterday. I was very excited by the Reconstruction volume, didn't know that was coming.

Mine arrived in Chicago earlier this week, but I'd already submitted my changes online. It was good to get the additional detail on works, though.

It remains a complete mystery what the Post Office did with this mailing. They've acknowledged it "entered the postal stream" on Long Island on March 27, but at some point the stream became a trickle. I know that subscribers as far away in Colorado received it in two or three days, while others only a few miles away on Long Island just received it just this week. I haven't experienced anything like this since the late 1980s.

LOA did all it could: drop it in the mailstream in a timely fashion, and track as much as you could. If the USPS doesn't improve, it would be a shame to have to rely on other carriers. USPS has to be the most efficient for this sort of mailing (typically).

A new post in the News section of the LOA website reveals three additional main series volumes and one special publication for early 2018 that are not on the customization form:
Albert Murray: Complete Novels and Poems (No. 304; Feb. 2018) (Mailer renumbered from 304 and 305 to 305 and 306).
Rachel Carson: Silent Spring and Other Environmental Writings (No. 307; April 2018).
Elmore Leonard: Westerns (No. 308; May 2018).
Special Publication -- Basketball: Great Writing About America's Game (February 2018).
In addition, boxed sets for Lincoln (2 volumes; distinct from the current 3-volume Lincoln boxed set) and American Poetry: 19th Century (2 volumes).
Apparently the Rachel Carson volume does not include her superb trilogy of books on the sea; hopefully those are planned for a future volume.

The Rachel Carson volume in particular will make a lot of people happy. She is a great writer.
