Former Austrian foreign minister Alois Mock died June 1 at age 82. He wrote Heimat Europa: Der Countdown von Wien nach Brussel, among others.


Novelist and critic Charles Simmons died June 1 at age 92. He wrote Powdered Eggs.



Russian ballet master Sergey Vikharev died June 2 at age 55. He wrote Dinamika mel'nits dlya razmola voloknistykh polufabrikatov.

Peter Sallis - who played Cleggy and voiced Wallace - died on June 2nd. His autobiography is Fading into the Limelight: The Autobiography.

Conservative political adviser Victor Gold died June 5 at age 88. He wrote Invasion of the Party Snatchers and several others.

Helen Dunmore born in December 1952 died on June 5th. An obit in today's "The Times" (London) but afraid it will be behind a pay wall. She wrote some poetry and also books for children. "A Spell in Winter" deals with brother-sister incest and won the first Orange Prize for fiction in 1996. Burning Bright deals with teenage prostitution in Finland.
