Hello, all! Just wondered what people's favourite gay books were. I've a soft spot for dark or punchy things so I love books like:
Patricia Duncker's "The Deadly Space Between"
Maria McCann's "As Meat Loves Salt"
Barry McCrea's "The First Verse"
and even
Maupin's "The Night Listener" (though I have to admit to not liking the Tales series at all ...!)
Anyone else got any recommendations?
Happy New reading Year!

I really liked Seventy Times Seven by Salvatore Sapienza. Semi-autobiographical, the novel is about the conflict between religion and sexuality, especially within the Catholic tradition.

Must admit I didn't really get on with Seventy Times Seven, though I gather he's doing very well with it, so that's fab!

#1 - I loved Patricia Duncker's The Deadly Space Between but haven't come across anyone else who has read it. It certainly was a very dark read and one that not everyone will appreciate.
I'm glad to come across someone else who also enjoyed it.

You might want to try Christopher Bram's Exiles in America. While not totally dark it had some very dark parts and was very punchy.

I think one of my favourites is "Nightswimmer' by Joseph Oshlan.
