So here we are, on the precipice, astride the top of the hill. If you're on track, 25,000 words by day's end.
It's all downhill from here.

Though it's going to feel like slogging through a swamp with waders full of cement.

My latest advice is the long told advice I received when I did NaNo. Things to get you unstuck:
1) Add a character (Kinda a plot bunny type idea. Add someone new and write their reactions.)
2) Kill a character (This gives you reactions to the death, or reshuffling of characters because of why the character died.)
3) Write a sex scene (Not all stories warrant it, but remember, it can come out later.)
4) Don't use contractions! Yes things feel stilted with the do not, can not, would not, I am verbiage but that's what editing is for. :)
5) Describe things! This is your chance to write that purple prose of four pages that just give you every intimate detail of a cup or saucer.

So take a moment to give us your best power pose and let us rejoice in your numbers.
Allow us to marvel at your Captain Morgan.

Then start that snowball rolling down that hill. (Even if you trip to start it.)

Alternatively ask your tired and giddy children to give you an idea before bedtime on a Sunday.

Yup. I'm mad.

but I did successfully incorporate my daughters 'being trapped in a big glass cube cage' in to my story. And my son shouting random things at me - though that last one in rather odd ways!

>2 BekkaJo: Nice! Trapped in a big glass cube cage... Sounds like something they did in Divergent. :)

Just a reminder, if in the US, that Week 4 starts on Thanksgiving Day! (I might start the new thread late.) To keep pace you'll want to be at 35000 words by Turkey Day. :)

But we can do it!

Poop - may have to read Divergent now to check that I'm not unintentionally plagiarising.

Oh I sincerely doubt you are. :)

Lists! Going shopping? What is your character getting?

Directions! Making a PB&J? Describe all the steps and be very specific about the ingredients. Peter Pan's Super Chunky peanut butter because it has less salt than the other brands (I don't know if it does really) and that was the brand the character's recently deceased grandmother always used for their after school snacks.

Use Ipsum lorem to make your word count and replace them later because you so totally intend to finish what you started even though you got behind.

You can do it!

*shakes pom poms a little dejectedly*

Yesterday was the first time since the first few days that I sat at the computer and my mind went blank. Stupid mind! Now is NOT the time.

So I have degenerated into a series of flashbacks that will be useful and hopefully get me across the line ;) Just over 7k to go!
